SHOPPING CENTRE TO APPOINT STUDENT AMBASSADOR TO RUN ANNUAL STUDENT EVENTS
Meadowhall Shopping Centre is following Alan Sugar’s lead in a search to hire the Centre’s first ever Student Director, who will join the Meadowhall management team to play a key role in the Shopping Centre’s annual student events taking place on April 21 and September 29 this year.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Meadowhall marketing team to develop the format, line-up and marketing for the 2016 student nights, which traditionally have seen over 20,000 students from across the region descending on the Centre for an evening of unparalleled entertainment and fabulous retailer offers.
The six month, part time Student Director role is to commence in March and will conclude in September following the autumn student event. Depending on the success of this inaugural role, Meadowhall is hoping to search and appoint again for the 2017 period.
The Centre is asking candidates who are 18 years or over and currently studying in Sheffield to send in their CV and covering letter, highlighting why they would be suitable for the role, and if they are appointed what they would bring to the table.
A short list of selected candidates will be invited to interview, which will be held in February at Meadowhall Management Suite, hosted by a panel of the Shopping Centre’s esteemed management team, including Darren Pearce, Centre Director.
Darren Pearce, comments: “We have decide to appoint a dedicated Student Director this year to help ensure we are giving the students exactly what they want; after all it’s their evening – so what better insight than appointing a student to the team.
“It’s fair to say that it’s been a few years since I and the majority of the management team have been a student, and I dare say my idea of a great night out is very different to what students may think today!”
Darren continues: “This is a fabulous opportunity for any student interested in pursuing a career in retail and or marketing to step forward and gain some valuable experience.
“We are looking for creative, energetic and hard working individuals who can work as part of a larger team but also bring some of their own personality and flair to the role.”
