Chart topping British artist Professor Green has today been announced as the first act signed up to perform at the Meadowhall and Capital FM Christmas Light Switch On Concert, to be hosted at the shopping centre on November 6, 2014.

Professor Green, one of the UK’s most talked about artists, has enjoyed a string of chart hits and is best known for Read All About It a collaboration with signer Emeli Sande which shot straight to No. 1.

The singer song writer has worked with some of the biggest names in the music world including Lily Allen, Labrinth, Example, and The Streets, and will be joined on stage on the night by an array of top artists to be announced in coming weeks by Meadowhall and partner Capital FM.

The concert has attracted a succession of huge names to the shopping centre including last year’s headline act The Vamps, and in previous years The Wanted, Olly Murs, Eliza Doolittle and Alesha Dixon, and is now firmly established as the region’s biggest Christmas event.

Meadowhall Event Manager Alex Caley said: “We are delighted to announce Professor Green as our first act at this year’s Light Switch On Charity Concert –such an established artist will certainly pull in the crowds.

“We will be revealing further acts very soon so keep tuned to Capital FM or keep a look out on our Facebook and Twitter pages for lots of exciting announcements and competitions.”

Tickets for the charity event are on sale online now priced at just £2.50. Proceeds from the concert will be shared between Meadowhall’s Charity of the Year, St Luke’s Hospice and Capital FM’s new charity Global’s Make Some Noise.

Children aged from eight years, up to and including 13 years, must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years and above.
