Rotherham-by-the-Sea will be returning to All Saints’ Square for a bumper 2 weeks of fun, starting Monday 4 August and lasting until Saturday August 16 (excluding Sunday August 10), to give residents a taste of the seaside on their doorstep.
Events and attractions include theme days – Superhero Day, Talent Day, Pirates and Princess Day, World Games Day and more – bingo, music, dancing, competitions, oodles of sand, deck chairs and lots of fun.
The family-favourite event, which has been bringing fun and excitement to the town centre for an amazing 11 years, will be running from 10am to 4pm each day with a range of seaside-themed activities.
Last year, Rotherham-by-the-Sea welcomed thousands of people to the town centre to enjoy the experience which included fun and activities for the whole family. This year’s event promises even more entertainment!
Cabinet Member for Business Growth and Regeneration, Cllr Dominic Beck, said, “Rotherham-by-the-Sea has been bringing free fun to our town for over a decade now, and what an amazing time it has been.
“It’s incredible to think that over 140 tonnes of sand in total has been used to transform All Saints’ Square into a mini-seaside resort, to be enjoyed by thousands of people.
“Rotherham-by-the-Sea has become a real tradition in the town centre and Rotherham residents of all ages genuinely look forward to all the activities going on over the week and really joining in the seaside spirit.
“We know how important it is to give residents these fun events to participate in, and Rotherham-by-the-Sea is up there with the best – see you by the beach!”
